This is not your average Vampire Hunter D fanart. I drew him my way according to the novels. This picture goes hand in hand with my fanfic "Playing the Devil's Advocate" [link]
Yes, in my mind, D looks remarkably like Akabane (Get Backers). Yes, in my mind, D took fashion advice from Vash the Stampede (Trigun). And, yes, D happens to use a dressage double bridle because they look cooler. never in the books did it mention a god-awful, skin-tight latex suit that would make most guys cringe, long-flowing auburn hair, or pointy ears. Sorry if you're a die-hard "Bloodlust" fan, but D did in fact have black hair and here's the shocker: he looked like a pale human, not an anemic elf! This is "Vampire Hunter D", people, not "Lord of the Rings". Ok, enough ranting. Drawn during a midnight thunderstorm. Colored 2 months later. And updated another 2 months later. India ink and crowquill pen. |
